Researchers from the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University to investigate the influence of the electromagnetic fields

13.11.2018

Researchers from the Department of Biophysics Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University (CM UJ) in Krakow have started a multidirectional research project “The influence of electromagnetic fields on the human body”.

– Electromagnetic fields are ubiquitous and cannot be avoided. Field sources are present in our natural environment, but their intensity is millions of times smaller than the intensity of electromagnetic fields originating from artificial sources, created by our civilization – said Prof. Eugeniusz Rokita from the Department of Biophysics, Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, CM UJ.

Krakow scientists want to investigate whether the fields of electromagnetic frequencies used in wireless communication have an impact on our health. The research is to focus both on checking the subjective assessment of the influence of electromagnetic fields on the body based on questionnaire studies and on conducting a series of clinical tests.
