23.07.2018

Scientists from the École Nationale Polytechnique d’Alger from Algeria visited the University of Silesia in Katowice. They talked about the possibilities of establishing cooperation between high schools.

Their cooperation can result in scientific achievements, patents and even the implementation and development of economic cooperation between Poland and Algeria. Scientists from the École Nationale Polytechnique d’Alger are planning to use biological methods to purify and enrich phosphate ores – one of Algeria’s natural resources.

The biologists from the University of Silesia intend to develop environmentally friendly methods for removing cadmium from phosphate ores. The first work has already been undertaken and one of the students of the Algerian technical university, Hakim Rabia MSc, is a laureate of the UNESCO scholarship program including optimization of research methods.
