Scientists of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences received grants under the Prelude 17 competition of the National Science Center. Three researchers will receive almost half a million PLN for their projects.

Klaudia Masztalerz will get nearly 140,000 PLN for examining the effect of physico-chemical properties of osmotic solutions with the participation of herbs extracts on the exchange process during osmotic dehydration and drying of plant materials.

Almost 140 thousand PLN will also be received by Michalina Alicka, who will study the role of the enzyme that requires inositol 1 alpha in regulating the expression of sex hormone binding protein in the liver cells of horses suffering from metabolic syndrome.

Olga Rodak received nearly PLN 200,000 for her research on the effectiveness of cryopreservation of ovarian tissue in felids. The project is to work out an easy and quick method of freezing gonadal tissue – a valuable tool that allows banking of wild felidae genetic material for many years.
