Dr Maciej Fic and Dr Lech Krzyżanowski, professors of the University of Silesia, have prepared a guide to the Silesian Voivodeship for people interested in the history of buildings, cuisine and character of the region.

Historians from the humanities department are the authors of the publication “Trails of the Second Polish Republic. Guide of the Silesian Voivodeship”. The prepared guide is the result of cooperation between the “Niepodlegla” Program Office and the University of Silesia in Katowice.

The book was created as an attempt to show the specifics of today’s voivodeship (consisting of the following territories: Częstochowa, Jaworzno-Chrzanów, Upper Silesia, Podbeskidzie / Śląsk Cieszyński and the Dąbrowski Basin) and as a way to popularize material and immaterial traces of the interwar period. Each of nearly half a hundred entries has been supplemented with references to literature that can broaden the knowledge of readers.
The guide can be downloaded for free in PDF format at: www.niepodlegla.gov.pl
