Rev. Prof. Michał Heller becomes doctor honoris causa of the Rzeszów University of Technology

Rev. Prof. Michał Heller, cosmologist, philosopher and theologian, the laureate of the Templeton Prize, was honored by the Rzeszów University of Technology with the title of doctor honoris causa. The ceremony took place on May 30, 2019.

Decision on honouring Prof. Heller in April 2018 was taken by the Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the Rzeszów University of Technology. In November last year the Senate of the Rzeszów University of Technology adopted a resolution to grant Prof. Michał Heller the title of doctor honoris causa.

The laudation at the ceremony was given by Prof. Tadeusz Markowski, rector of the Rzeszów University of Technology, who emphasized that Prof. Michał Heller’s title of doctor honoris causa of the Rzeszów University of Technology is an expression of the university’s highest recognition “for the contribution of the professor to the development and promotion of science in the world and the effective joining science and spirituality”.
