Robot constructed by AGH students will deliver parcels without obstacles

02.02.2018

Students of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow have constructed an autonomous delivery robot. Its task is to deliver parcels to designated places. This is one of the first student structures of this type in Poland.
ADR (Autonomous Delivery Robot) is an autonomous electric robot that uses intelligent control algorithms. This means that the device, depending on the current external situation, is able to make the right decisions, e.g. it can overpass obstacles. It is assisted by the lidar sensors to scan the surrounding environment. In this way the robot creates maps that are automatically saved in its system. After selecting the delivery spot, the robot sets the optimal route and accomplishes the task.
The robot moves at a maximum speed of 0.5 m / s and can carry a load up to 10 kg.
