Students from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow constructed the robot that can play the ukulele. It can perform the film music from “The Godfather”, “Pirates of the Caribbean” or “Requiem for a dream”. The UkuRobot already gained publicity in the international media.

Four students of Mechatronics Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at the AGH Jakub Grela, Adrian Gołąb, Mateusz Guzik and Łukasz Jurczak designed and constructed the UkuRobot during the Mechatronic Design classes. The inspiration for the authors was a Lego Mindstorms robot playing the guitar. Young engineers decided to construct their own version not only playing chords and all strings simultaneously, but also single sounds.
