Rzeszow University of Technology integrates automatic start and landing systems for unmanned aircraft

18.07.2019

Until July 20, 2019, the Aviation Training Center in Jasionka near Rzeszów will start the first stage of integration of automatic take off and landing systems – ATOL and the automatic taxiing system for AUTOTAXI unmanned aerial vehicles.

The work is carried out on behalf of the European Defense Agency as part of the Enhanced RPAS Automation project, which aims to support the regulation of unmanned aircraft movements in a non-segregated European airspace.

Demonstrators of the systems are installed on board of the Czajka MP-02 aircraft, which are operated by PRz (the operator is the Avionics and Control Department) and the Institute of Aviation.

The PRz project has been assigned as the leader responsible for the integration of systems provided by partners on board aircraft-demonstrators. The Rzeszow University of Technology will also be responsible for demonstrating the results of the project for high-level representatives of European defense institutions.
