Scholar from Warsaw will study the most famous syndrome in psychology

22.02.2018

Professor Magdalena Żemojtel-Piotrowska from the Department of Christian Philosophy at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw won the National Science Center competition and received over PLN 1.7 million  to create a team and research one of the most famous syndromes in psychology – narcissism.

– We are trying to explain the social functioning of different types of narcissism – said Professor Żemojtel-Piotrowska in a brief description of the project, available on the website of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University – the state of knowledge about this phenomenon needs a solid, theoretical and well ordered research.

Research will include observational and objectivized data, such as the analysis of the functioning of narcissistic people in social networks or in romantic relationships. The whole research is complemented by intercultural research; it verifies the assumption of the existence of four forms of narcissism in various contexts and cultural conditions. (kp)
