Scientific conference about the beginning of the Neolithic period in Poland

The Institute of Archeology of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) together with the State Archaeological Museum in Warsaw and the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences are organizing a scientific conference on November 22, 2018 entitled “The Neolithic Beginnings in Poland.”

The conference will be held on the occasion of the centenanary of the birth of Dr Jan Kowalczyk – an outstanding archaeologist, an expert on Neolithic issues, a researcher in the prehistory of the Lublin region and a long-time scholar of the UMCS Chair of Archeology.

Papers at the conference will be given by eminent Polish stone age researchers: Prof. Stefan K. Kozłowski (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw), Prof. Sławomir Kadrow (University of Rzeszów), Prof. Marzena Szmyt and Prof. Aleksander Kośko (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) and Prof. Stanisław Kukawka (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń).
