Scientist of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń wins the competition in the TEAM program

Dr Ireneusz Grulkowski from the Institute of Physics of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun will receive almost PLN 3.5 million to create a research team. The money comes from the competition of the Foundation for Polish Science in the TEAM program.

The grant will allow the employee of the Department of Biophysics and Medical Physics at the University of Toruń to carry out the project “Lenticular and vitreal light scattering and refraction for tomorrow’s eye diagnostics”.

Dr Grulkowski heads a team in Bio-Optics and Optical Engineering in Toruń. He uses advanced techniques of optical engineering in the development of new imaging methods dedicated to biology and medicine. His team cooperates with many centers in the country and abroad. His research on the new generation of optical tomographs has been awarded by the American Optical Society of America.
