Scientists from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of the Nicolaus Copernicus University published their article in the prestigious scientific journal Science Advances. The text describes the operation of the Earth’s sensor network aimed at detecting dark matter. The network is based on the four most precise atomic clocks in the world located in the United States, Japan, France and Torun in Poland.

The publication is the result of work of an international team of scientists, including the researchers from the Department of Atomic Physics, Molecular and Optical Institute of Physics of the University of Toruń: Dr Piotr Wcisło, MSc. Piotr Ablewski, Dr Eng. Sławomir Bilicki, Dr Marcin Bober, Dr Eng. Piotr Morzyński, Prof. Roman Ciuryło, Beata Zjawin and Dr Michał Zawada. The research was financed from the resources of the Foundation for Polish Science.
