Scientists of the Medical University of Wroclaw to receive nearly PLN 5 million

Nearly PLN 5 million will be granted to the researchers of the Medical University of Wroclaw for their research from the National Science Center as part of the Opus program.

Almost PLN 2 million will be allocated to the project “Determination of epigenetic mechanisms of modulation of selected genes from the SOX family and their transcripts as potential diagnostic and predictive markers in NSCLC non-small cell lung cancer”, and nearly 900 thousand PLN will be allocated to the “Investigations of GABAergic transmission plasticity mechanisms in interneurons and pyramidal cells of mouse hippocampus”.

One million PLN will allow to determine the “importance of microflora and permeability of the colon barrier in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia – in search of conditions for sub-threshold inflammation and metabolic dysregulation”. This project is carried out by a consortium of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin and the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
