Silesian University of Technology developed a prototype ventilator RespiSave with telemetry function

25.05.2020

Scientists from the Faculty of Automation, Electronics and Computer Science of the Silesian University of Technology have developed a prototype respirator with telemetry function, i.e. with the possibility of remote control. Researchers from Medical Universities in Bialystok and Warsaw as well as the Technical College in Katowice and Lazarski University in Warsaw are involved in the RespiSave project.

RespiSave solution was designed to provide ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) for patients with COVID-19. This is an innovative invention, thanks to which the doctor can monitor all patients from one place, checking the data from the ventilator via the Internet.

The device uses control using adaptive algorithms and ensures that it is easy to use at home. The device is equipped with a remote monitoring system, it can be also easily adapted to the needs of patients of different ages.
