Silesian University of Technology to examine the past and the future of industry

The Laboratory of Research and Analyzes of Work Conditions in Industrial Professions will be created at the Silesian University of Technology. It is a joint initiative of the University of Gliwice and the Association of Tarnogórska Land Lovers, co-financed with the amount of PLN 1.5 million under the “Dialogue” program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The laboratory will deal with extending interdisciplinary cooperation between representatives of the humanities and technical sciences, to deepen research on the working conditions of industrial professions in the past, present and future. The task of laboratory, which is part of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Research, will be to show how the industry in Silesia changed from the starting the first mines to the modern Revolution 4.0 in factories.

The laboratory will be a unique place nationwide, which will take care of an in-depth description and study of industrial works in Silesia from prehistory through present times to futuristic visions.
