Space help for farmers

15.02.2018

In 2018, about 2 percent of arable land in Poland will be monitored from space. The Polish startup, SatAgro, enables farmers to access the results of NASA and the European Space Agency satellite observations, including those from the latest constellation of Sentinel observational satellites.

SatAgro offers, mainly to owners of farms of 20-30 thousand hectares, space observations of the state of fields and crops, precise appointment of field works, agrotechnical procedures and notification of sudden changes in weather or the condition of plants.

The use of satellite monitoring in agriculture brings increased yields and increases crop efficiency, e.g. as a result of precise determination of the optimal level of fertilization. Thanks to SatAgro even 30 percent fertilizers have been saved in 11,000. hectares of farm Top Farms Głubczyce in the Opole region. (kp)
