Spin-off company of the University of Warsaw to clean up Polish hop plantations from harmful substances

The Polski Eko Chmiel company signed a contract with the spin-off company of the University of Warsaw – BACTrem, which has developed an innovative technology for cleaning the soil from harmful substances.

The technology is to allow to remove carcinogenic creosote from Polish plantations of hop and to provide the production of healthy, clean hop cones for the needs of breweries.

The BACTrem company has decided to cooperate in the field of cleaning hop plantations from toxic substances using a special biopreparation for soil remediation. It is about the biodegradation of harmful creosote oil.

– We are pleased that our biopreparation will contribute to the release of Polish hoppers from contamination of creosote oil – said Dr Magdalena Popowska, president of BACTrem. Our biopreparations are fast acting, they are safe for the environment, they do not contain toxic substances or genetic modifications.
