Radosław Kępa, a student of the Academic Secondary School of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, constructed a puzzle robot from LEGO Mindstorms EV3 blocks.

The robot is based on 2 cubes-computers from the Mindstorms series, using 6 servomotors, 2 ultrasonic sensors and 3 touch sensors. The program was written in blocks in the Mindstorms EV3 environment. The puzzle’s task is finding a button hidden behind the flap that can be opened using a combination of two of the four available sensors. However, the machine makes it difficult to find a button, e.g. by hiding sensors inside.

The young designer participates in the meetings of the Silesian Phoenix Student Research Club. He had the opportunity to present the puzzle robot during the international competition XII Robotic Arena in Wroclaw, as well as in the event “How do robots see our world?” during the 4th Silesian Science Festival.
