Student of the Jagiellonian University wins a competition for literary translation

Barbara Bruks, a student of literary and cultural translation at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, won the translation contest, which took place under the patronage of the Association of Literary Translators during the 14th International Festival of Stories in Wrocław.

280 translations from English, German and French were sent to the competition. The jury awarded the first prize to Barbara Bruks for translating the ” Wyspiarze z ronda” (“Die Verkehrsberuhigten”) story of the Austrian writer and musician Elias Hirschel into Polish.
