Students of the Wrocław University of Technology win medals at RoboGames 2018

One gold and four silver medals were won by students from the KoNaR Scientific Circle of the Wrocław University of Technology at the RoboGames 2018 robotics Olympiad in the USA. 828 robots from over 20 countries competed in the tournament.

Wrocław students won gold in the Best of Show category for a robot chessboard project, in which the role of the opponent was played by the social robot EMYS built in the Wroclaw University and developed as a commercial product by FLASH Robotics.
Three silver medals were won by “SkyWave” and “Navy” robots built by Rafał Cymiński. The fourth silver was won in the Nano Sumo category, where robots were tasked to push each other off the ring. This part was won by the robot “Stasio” constructed by Michał Piotrowicz and Michał Burdka.

RoboGames is the largest robotic tournament in the world that takes place every year in the Silicon Valley. The Scientific Circle “KoNaR” has operated at the Department of cybernetics and robotics, at the Faculty of Electronics of the Wrocław University of Technology, continuously since 2003.
