Szczecin Institute to hold Inland Shipping International Conference 2019

The Institute of Transport Management at the Maritime University of Szczecin and the West Pomeranian Maritime Cluster Association will invite participants on 16 and 17 May to the International Scientific Conference Inland Shipping International Conference 2019.

The leitmotif of the meeting will be inland navigation as an alternative to road transport – which is in line with the assumptions and objectives of the European Union’s Sustainable Transport Policy. The conference is to be a meeting of practitioners and scientists and a forum for the exchange of views and experiences.

The organizers are planning to discuss the following topics: The role of inland navigation in the socio-economic development of the regions; The importance of inland waterway transport in multi-bay transport systems and supply chains; Global and European trends in the development of inland waterway transport (infrastructure, means of transport, control systems) and Polish waterways as a key element of the green corridor Baltic – Central and Southern Europe.
