The film “Tama” (Dam) directed by Natalia Koniarz, student of the Radio and Television Department at Silesian University in Katowice, won the award for best student film at Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen.

Her documentary, which lasts for 22 minutes, tells the story of a father and his son who had previously broken contact but after meeting they decide to build the little dam on a mountain stream. The plot can be read in terms of the fight against weaknesses, a joint effort directed against prejudice and mutual grudges.

Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen is the main festival of short films in the Netherlands presenting distinguished European productions. The film “Tama” previously won awards at the Koszalin Debut Film Festival “Youth and Film”, the International Film Festival “Allowed to 21” and the International Film Festival “Etiuda & Anima”.
