Largest Polish insurance company creates innovative solutions with the AGH University of Science and Technology

Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń and Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza in Krakow signed a letter of intent regarding establishing long-term cooperation in the field of research and development projects. The largest financial group in Central and Eastern Europe and the Krakow University will jointly create innovative solutions connecting science and business.

Both sides want to join forces, including in the field of technological innovation, research, didactics, as well as the use of technology and laboratory base. The cooperation of the insurance company and university assumes scientific and research studies, implementation of joint research and development of the projects.

The first joint project of Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń and Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza is the implementation of the TANGO 2 project entitled “Active-safety system for motor vehicles based on an individual driver model”. The total cost of the project is estimated at PLN 1.2 million, of which PLN 1 million is financed from the resources of the National Center for Research and Development. The Universal Insurance Company will cover 15% of the project costs.
