The National Science Center will spend over PLN 326 million on scientific research

The National Science Center has settled four competitions addressed to scientists who start an independent career or create research teams, carry out projects in international cooperation and conduct pioneering research. More than PLN 326 million has been awarded to young researchers.

The award-winner scientist is Dr Ireneusz Sadowski from the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In his project “Three generations of the Polish transformation” he analyzes social changes in a cohort (group) perspective. He will receive nearly PLN 400,000 for his research.

In turn, one of the research teams, led by Dr Monika Dering from the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will attempt to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the Caucasus forests. For this research including Comparative phylogeography of six tree species, almost PLN 1.4 million has been allocated.

Even more funds for research will be obtained by Dr  Marcin Nowotny from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, who receives almost PLN 4.3 million for structural studies of the action mechanism of bacterial DNA repair.
