Three scientists of the Nicolaus Copernicus University receive Sonata competition grants

Three scientists from the Nicolaus Copernicus University received grants in the competition of the National Science Center Sonata Bis 9. The grants were awarded for research projects aimed at establishing a new scientific team.

In the field of humanities, social sciences and arts, the grant was received by Dr Sławomir Wacewicz, Prof. of UMK from the humanities department for the project ‘Science on language evolution – state of research and significance for language research’.

In the field of life sciences, the grant was received by Dr Agnieszka Zienkiewicz, Prof. of UMK from the Interdisciplinary Center of Modern Technologies for her project “How to keep fats in leaves? Deciphering the relationship between fat accumulation and degradation during leaf aging”.

In the field of exact and technical sciences, the grant was obtained by Dr. Piotr Żuchowski, Prof. of UMK from the faculty of physics, astronomy and applied computer science for his project “New extensions and applications of calculus of adopted symmetry disorders”.
