Universities from Gdańsk and Szczecin developing a technology for acquiring and exploring gravity data

26.11.2018

Consortium of Gdańsk University of Technology, Maritime University of Szczecin and GEOPARTNER will carry out the project: “Development of technologies for the acquisition and exploration of gravity data offshore of Polish marine areas and its coasts” (MORGAV).

The aim of the project is to develop technology for the acquisition and exploration of gravity data from the coasts of Polish maritime areas and its coast for the needs of the harmonization of offshore altitude measurements with the EVRS (European Vertical Reference System).

The developed technology for acquisition and exploration of high precision offshore gravity data will fill a significant information gap in the research of Polish Exclusive Economic Zone. The results of the research will allow the introduction of automated methods for monitoring marine areas into the practice, will also enable multi-aspect analyzes of spatial data.
