21.12.2018

The University of Economics in Katowice (EU) in 2019 will receive almost PLN 29 million to increase the basic fund – says the letter of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education – Jaroslaw Gowin, addressed to the rector of Dr. Robert Tomanek.

Min. Gowin said that funds in the form of two-year government bonds will be transferred in 2019. The nominal value of government bonds, for which the Minister of Science and Higher Education applied to the Minister of Finance for the University of Economics in Katowice is PLN 28.825 million.

Providing additional money for university development was one of the key demands in the discussions of the university authorities with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education during the work on the reform. As a result, the Law on Higher Education and Science, i.e. the Constitution for Science guarantees a constant mechanism for the increase of expenditures on research and higher education as well as an increase in minimum wages in universities.
