Poznań University of Economics is implementing the SIMMO II project: System for Intelligent Maritime Monitoring II. The scientists’ goal is to develop a system for analyzing marine data, based on modern data science methods and Big Data technology.
The system will enable rapid analysis, including real-time analysis and detection of anomalies based on large volumes of marine data. It will also allow an assessment of the current situation in the seas and oceans on a global scale and for various types of ships. Such analyzes have not been possible so far in the scenarios concerning sea basins.
SIMMO II is a research and development project ordered by the European Defense Agency and financed by the Polish and Luxembourg Ministry of National Defense. It is implemented jointly with the LuxSpace Sarl company from Luxembourg, the Poznań university is the coordinator.
