The Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Szczecin together with the Marshal’s Office of the Westpomeranian Region invite participants to the conference “Unconventional energy in Western Pomerania – potential, problems, perspectives”, which will be held on November 20th.

The main topics of the conference are energy security, energy planning in local governments, environmental protection, use of renewable energy sources and social acceptance for RES investments. The participants will also learn about the principles of operation of local energy clusters.

During the conference participants will be able to see the research on the use of diatoms for biofuels production, which have been conducted for years at the Faculty of Earth Sciences. One of the conference panels will be devoted to legal issues – including spatial planning and regional energy policy.
