University of Warsaw becomes a leader among Polish beneficiaries of the Horizon 2020 program

The European Commission has published the latest data summarizing the Horizon 2020 program. The University of Warsaw became a leader among Polish beneficiaries in terms of the number of projects in which it participates (97) and coordination (19). The total funding for these projects is over EUR 30 million.

So far, EUR 56.66 billion has been spent under the Horizon 2020 budget for 30 420 co-financed projects for 36 554 institutions from 168 countries participate. The largest beneficiaries are Germany, Great Britain and France.
Poland ranks 18th among the Horizon 2020 beneficiaries with a total funding of EUR 612.46 million. Polish institutions participated in 1,601 projects, of which 285 as coordinators. In total, 782 national institutions are using Horizon 2020 funds.

The leader in Poland is the University of Warsaw (UW), which participates in 97 projects, coordinating 19 of them. Its total funding is EUR 30.19 million. The projects implemented by the University of Warsaw from the Horizon 2020 program include European Research Council (ERC) grants.
