University of Warsaw is the best Polish university in the Shanghai ranking

In this year’s ranking of the best universities in the world (Academic Ranking of World Universities), the University of Warsaw was classified in the group of universities at 301-400 positions. Another Polish high school – Jagiellonian University took the place in the range 401-500.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai List, is the ranking of the best universities in the world published since 2003. It is prepared by the Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.

In this year’s ranking, the American Harvard University was recognized as the best university in the world. The second and third place, as in the previous year, were taken by Stanford and British Cambridge Universities.

The Kraków Academy of Mining and Metallurgy has been classified in the seventh hundred of the ranking. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Warsaw Medical University and the Warsaw University of Technology are placed in the eight hundred. The Silesian Medical University in Katowice was in the ninth hundred and Lodz University of Technology, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, University of Lodz, University of Wroclaw and Wroclaw University of Technology are positioned in the tenth hundred of the ranking.
