University of Warsaw to launch Polish-Spanish meetings

On 21-22 May 2019, the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” of the University of Warsaw, the Spanish Embassy in Poland and the Cervantes Institute are organizing the second Polish-Spanish meetings.

During the two-day international scientific conference, the participants will discuss the situation of Spain in the time of the Versailles treaty, Polish-Spanish parallelisms in art and the life of Poles in Madrid during World War I.

Invited experts include: Prof. Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza from the University of San Pablo CEU in Madrid, writer and art critic Juan Manuel Bonet Planes, and Dr Jan Stanisław Ciechanowski and Prof. Jan Kieniewicz from the “Artes Liberales” Faculty of the University of Warsaw. Welcome speech will be given by Prof. Robert Sucharski, dean of the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” UW and Francisco Javier Sanabria Valderrama, Ambassador of Spain in Poland.
