Scientists from the Department of Large Animal Diseases and the Clinic of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Warsaw are conducting research on the safety of using the Ventil apparatus.

The apparatus was developed at the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of Polish Academy of Sciences. It allows to provide independent ventilation of two patients simultaneously using one ventilator.

The aim of research of SGGW scientists is the assessment of safety and effectiveness of simultaneous ventilation of two animals using one ventilator and Ventil device for pigs under general anesthesia. Experts will also check the possibility of penetration of pathogens between the air paths of the device and, consequently, between the respiratory systems of animals.
