Warsaw University of Technology students construct a rocket engine for liquid fuel

23.05.2018

The Warsaw University of Technology students from the MELprop Scientific Group at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering have constructed one of the first rocket engines for liquid fuel in Poland.

– We prepared it thoroughly. We carried out calculations, simulations, analyzes, we checked every subsystem step by step and only when we were sure that all was operating, we organized a full test – says the main constructor Alexander Gorgeri. He emphasizes, that the engine is a technology demonstrator and is not a product ready for use in the space industry. Despite of it, at relatively low cost, students are able to refine the technology so that it can be fully utilized.

They intend to introduce the necessary modifications to the engine, limit its mass, and carry out further tests. The ultimate goal of the project is to adapt the engine to industrial use.
