Warsaw University of Technology to launch the technology of producing bioactive dental implants

07.04.2020

Scientists from the Faculty of Materials Science of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) are implementing a research project to develop the design and technology for producing innovative bioactive dental implants.

The NADIMPLANT project is implemented by a consortium of: Wychowaniaski Sp. z o.o. (leader), Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering PW and MaterialsCare Sp. z o.o.

As part of the project, 3D printing parameters will be developed by means of selective laser melting from technically pure titanium (Ti-CP) and Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) alloy for dental implants with a modified internal structure through the use of open porosity and specially designed internal channels.

The project was awarded the Progress Award – Pearl of Innovation by the economic magazine “Polish Market” and the Main Council of Research Institutes.

It also received funding from the National Center for Research and Development as part of the “Way for Mazovia” competition. It will be implemented until March 2023.
