Project of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (ZUT) “Eliminating barriers of the access to education” has received funding under the National Center for Research and Development competition. The goal of the program is to eliminate barriers to access to higher education.

Thanks to the allocated funds, it will be possible to introduce organizational changes – including the launch of an office supporting disabled people. There are also plans to construct an elevator in one of the faculties, and provide specialized trainings to raise the awareness and competence of the staff, which will translate into increased accessibility of the educational offer for people with disabilities.

The competition is financed from European Funds – Knowledge Education Development Program. The planned budget was PLN 200 million, but in the end it was increased by over PLN 121 million thanks to the high quality of submitted projects and the significance of the actions.
