World Congress of Historians to be held next year in Poznan

Poznań will be the host of the XXIII International Congress of Historical Sciences 2020. Agreement on cooperation in the organization of the congress was signed by: mayor of Poznań Jacek Jaśkowiak, rector of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, Prof. Andrzej Lesicki and the president of the Poznań Local Tourist Organization, Jan Mazurczak.

The organizer of the congress is the International Committee of Historical Sciences – an association of historians from around the world established in Geneva in 1926. The event takes place every five years in different parts of the world.

The congress will include over 100 various thematic panels, specialist sessions and discussions on important issues from antiquity to the present day. The Poznań partners will launch the so-called Research Forum, during which universities, research institutes and foundations will present their research projects. The Congress will also be accompanied by the International Historical Book Fair.
