Wrocław University of Science and Technology to hold exhibition and discussion about modernism – “Concrete monsters”

21.08.2019

“Concrete Monsters” is an exhibition of 18 original posters depicting Eastern European stadiums, which over time grew into the landscape of their cities. The exhibition will be available for viewers from August 23 at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The event will be accompanied by a discussion panel with the participation of artists, scientists, sports journalists and musicians.

Until recently, buildings made of concrete constituted the main element of the landscape of Polish cities and towns. Today they are slowly becoming a thing of the past, but 30 years ago many of Poles grew up in this space. One of the most important facilities of those days were stadiums, which gathered crowds of people supporting their beloved team every weekend.

On August 23, invited artists, scientists, sports journalists and musicians will discuss the concrete relics of the past, their feelings and memories related to them, as well as the history of modernism in the world on August 23, in Wroclaw, Poland or the world.
