30.08.2018

According to research carried out under the “Project Scientist” funded by the European Commission 80 percent of young Polish scientists would like to stay in the academic sector and work at universities and research institutes.  At the same time, as many as 65 percent of the respondents are considering leaving Poland if they do not find a satisfactory job.

As the plushr.pl portal informs, the recent research indicates that young researchers consider low number of job offers in the academic sector, low wages and temporary employment contracts as the biggest barriers to develop careers on the domestic market.

Poland has less than half the working scientists compared to the number of them in Great Britain or Germany. There are 20.7 scientists for 10,000 inhabitants in Poland. There are over 43 in Germany and 45 in Great Britain. In the Scandinavian countries, this indicator is about 70.
