35 years ago, students of the Institute of Physical Culture of the University of Szczecin (US) broke the Guinness record in the frog jumping competition. On the occasion of the anniversary of the event, the authors of the record met with the vice-rector of the university for student affairs, Dr Katarzyna Kotarska and received anniversary medals.

In 1987, 14 students of the US Institute of Physical Culture attempted to break the Guinness World Record for jumping over themselves. The record then belonged to the students of the Cama Delta Club at the University of Washington and was 968.8 km.

The record attempt began on May 23, 1987. For six days, the event was reported on an ongoing basis by the regional and national media and was the first such media event in the history of the University of Szczecin established two years earlier.

After 132 hours and 38 minutes, a new record was set with the result of 1,068.8 km. Information about this appeared in the Guinness Book of Records published in 1989.
