A tool for the uniform assessment of computational models for 3D genomics was developed by the international consortium International Nucleome Consortium, participated by Prof. Dariusz Plewczyński and Mateusz Chiliński from the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Sciences of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW).

The spatial organization of the genome is the subject of research by many scientists, whose discoveries provide new information, but also raise new questions. One of the difficulties for researchers is the lack of uniform methods for comparing models developed on the basis of three-dimensional genomics experiments.

“3DGenBench is the first online platform to offer comparisons between models derived from different biophysical simulation methods. It is a unique tool for scientists from around the world to compare their results using reliable metrics”, says Prof. Dariusz Plewczyński.
