Adam Mickiewicz University establishes Team for climate change and environmental crisis

06.08.2020

The University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań (AMU) has launched Working Team for climate change and environmental crisis. Scientists will prepare diagnoses, recommendations, and cooperate with the environment to protect the climate.

Scientists want to develop effective methods of informing the public about climate change and environmental crisis, as well as initiate and coordinate research activities, prepare positions and recommendations for university authorities and its organizations. In autumn, the team is planning an interdisciplinary seminar on the Anthropocene and global warming.

– We would like every AMU student to learn about the human impact on the climate and nature. Currently, only few classes deal with the issues of global warming, ecological crisis and anthropocene – says the chairman of the team, Prof. Mariusz Lamentowicz.
