The Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan (UAM) is joining the IBM Quantum Network Hub. The university has signed a membership agreement with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre (PSNC) – operator of the Polish IBM Quantum Network Hub. PSNC is the first institution in Central Europe to join the network.

The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, has already received a positive opinion from IBM regarding the scope of its research and development work and quantum computing projects. This fact was preceded by a period of experiments, carried out in cooperation with PSNC, thanks to funding from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

The aim of the experiments conducted by the UAM teams is to identify areas of application for quantum computers. Three main groups can be distinguished, i.e. quantum simulators (mainly physics and chemistry), artificial intelligence and optimisation. All of these groups are crucial for the development of science and the economy.
