A habitat is being created at the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow, in the newly built premises of the Space Technology Centre. It is a specialised laboratory that will enable the simulation of space missions.

The habitat will serve to develop and train future personnel for the space engineering sector. It will also be the first laboratory at Polish universities where students will be able to test solutions in practice in conditions similar to those of lunar and Martian missions.

The space base simulator will be used to test new materials for space base construction, solutions in the area of navigation, telecommunications or biomedical engineering.

The facility will house the Mission Control Room, where employees and students of the AGH Space Technology Centre will be able to supervise the missions of satellites sent by the Academy. The Mission Control Room will also be a place where the work and activities undertaken by the analogue astronauts in the habitat can be monitored on a permanent basis.
