Fragments of Greek amphorae, vessels, a dozen Scythian arrowheads and bronze ornaments are the discoveries of archaeologists from the University of Rzeszów in Chotyniec (Podkarpackie) found during the study of the settlement from about 2,500 years ago belonging to the Scythian family.

As Maciej Ulita, a press spokesman at the University of Rzeszow, said on the air of TVN24, that currently the team of archaeologists is continuing research carried out last year in Chotyniec on the ash spot, located in the settlement from the early Iron Age.

– With each layer of earth removed, it turns out that the discovered seat of the Scythian people hides many secrets. The sensation of last year was the Greek amphora for wine, which seems to be the only such artefact in Poland and became the hallmark of the Chotynec expedition – added Dr. Ulita.
