Attorney and scientist of the Jagiellonian University awarded with the Medal of the 75th Anniversary of Jan Karski’s Mission

Prof. Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski, lecturer of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, will be awarded the Medal of the 75th Anniversary of Jan Karski’s Mission.

The medal of the 75th anniversary of Jan Karski’s Mission was minted in the number of 30 copies. The laureates of the award include Pope Francis and longtime director of the League Against Defamation (ADL), Abraham Foxman. The author of the medal design is Janusz Kapusta, and the contractor is the Polish artist-medalist Wiesław Kulej.

Prof. Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski will receive this medal “for fulfilling the pro bono defense mission of the innocent Tomasz Komenda through trial acquittal and in separate court proceedings to award the compensation to him. Simply for showing Poles that justice cannot be an injustice. For restoring the elementary meaning to the concepts of guilt and punishment.”
