Białystok University of Technology commercialized an innovative robot RobUV

23.09.2020

Scientists of the Białystok University of Technology (PB) jointly with the technical staff of the Zurad company, which belongs to the Polish Armaments Group, have developed the RobUV robot with UV-C emitters. The new solution can disinfect Polish hospitals already this year. It is the most prestigious and the largest direct commercialization process in terms of value in the history of PB.

RobUV is a remotely controlled mobile device that disinfects and decontaminates, i.e. cleans the air and any surfaces in rooms from harmful substances. It is based on the technology of UV-C emitters recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the eliminating of coronavirus COVID-19. The robot effectively kills bacteria, microorganisms, viruses, and therefore all pathogens with a DNA code.

The authors of the idea are scientists of the Faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering: Dr Eng. Maciej Zajkowski and Dr Eng. Kazimierz Dzierżek. The solution can be used to disinfect treatment rooms in hospitals, shopping center spaces and schools.
