Biotech company Biotts working on the development of antidiabetic therapies

23.03.2020

The Wrocław company Biotts received PLN 11.2 million under the initiative “Fast Track” of the National Center for Research and Development. The money is intended to help start work on the development of antidiabetic therapies.

In the project, co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development, we will develop a new drug applied to the skin, containing an innovative carrier, thanks to which we will transport anti-diabetic substances through the skin (into the bloodstream). This is a real breakthrough, expected for years by patients suffering from diabetes and pharmaceutical companies – says Konrad Krajewski, managing partner of Biotts.

The solutions of the Wroclaw company will allow the transport of drugs through the skin. Until now, such a solution for most pharmaceuticals was impossible. This can apply to commonly used oncological, anti-inflammatory or analgesic drugs. The technology will reduce the cost of treatment and replace oral forms of drug delivery, burdening the digestive system or painful injections.
