Catholic University of Lublin to hold conference on the scientific achievements of Archbishop Józef Życiński

The philosophical and scientific achievements of Archbishop Józef Życiński were the subject of an online conference organized by the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) on February 24.

From 1997 until his death on February 10, 2011, archbishop Józef Życiński headed the Department of Relations Between Science and Faith at KUL. At the same time, he was the metropolitan of Lublin and the Grand Chancellor of the Catholic University of Lublin.

Lecturers from various universities undertook analyzing the heritage of Józef Życiński, the professor of the Faculty of Philosophy at KUL. The speakers in their papers dealt with such issues as “God and mathematics” or “Philosophy as perceived by Józef Życiński”.

The lectures were delivered by: Prof. Ryszard Kleszcz, University of Lodz, Prof. Piotr Gutowski, Catholic University of Lublin, Prof. Anna Lemańska, the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and Dr Wojciech Kotowicz, Higher Theological Seminary of the Archdiocese of Warmia.
