From April 12 to 14 2018, the Congress of Polish Geography will take place. This is the most important event of the Polish Geography Year. The celebration was announced by the Committee of Geographical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, referring to the 100th anniversary of the Polish Geographical Society and the 100th anniversary of teaching geography at the University of Warsaw.
During the congressional debates, an overview and assessment of the achievements of Polish geography in the past century will be made and the most important problems and research challenges faced by the Polish geographers will be indicated.
The last, open day of the congress will be celebrated as the Geographer’s Day. The Jubilee Geographic Competition will be held and the best, young geographers will be selected from among 200 students representing 228 schools in the contest. (Kp)
